- Our mission is to provide nourishing bread to as many Long Island families as possible.
- We use exclusively organic einkorn flour.
- We ferment our dough for a minimum of 24 hours. This fermentation process breaks down the wheat and makes it more digestible.
- Our bread is not gluten free but you may be surprised at how good you feel after eating it.
- We deliver to Nassau and Suffolk County.

What is Einkorn?
Have you ever wondered why all of the sudden wheat has been making people sick? Well, in the 1950s scientists figured out a way to create a wheat crop (by cross-breeding) that would be disease-resistant and produce higher yields. The man who engineered the new wheat won the Nobel Prize- it promised to feed millions around the world. Well, it has, and it has also made many sick. Einkorn is the ancient wheat grain, prior to hybridization.

Hi there, I’m Chrissie. Thank you for stopping by.
Food and nutrition are really important to me. I used to struggle with health issues like autoimmunity, digestive problems, acne, fatigue, etc., until I discovered how to heal my body with the right diet. I’m not here to give nutrition advice, but I do know it’s possible to heal with food because I did it.
In 2010 I found that my health improved significantly when I eliminated bread from my diet. I was sad to give it up, but my health was more important. I had almost given up on bread entirely until I discovered einkorn sourdough bread in 2017. This was truly a gift from God!
I started making bread for my family on a regular basis in 2017, and then in 2020, my doctor asked me if I would bake bread from his patients. That’s how Chrissie’s Bread Bakery began. Then in 2021 my husband joined me as a partner in the bakery, he converted our garage to a beautiful kitchen, and we made it official – Chrissie’s Bread Bakery LLC
